Get to Know Parley Hubler, Jr., DDS

Dr. Parley Hubler was born in Sallisaw, OK, but grew up on a cattle ranch outside the small town of Pawhuska. The two main industries in the area were oil and cattle, so Dr. Hubler had opportunities to work in both. However, what really drew his attention and passion was dentistry. To learn more about Dr. Hubler’s training and education, continue reading below.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Hubler decided to become a dentist while he was an undergraduate student at Brigham Young University. He had previously thought about becoming a medical doctor but decided that dentistry seemed like a better fit. He had always been good at working with his hands, so he would be able to do this while also getting more one-on-one time with his patients compared to other healthcare fields.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Hubler has practiced dentistry for over 30 years since graduating from the Oklahoma College of Dentistry in 1994. He started his career working for the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma, eventually starting his own private practice in early 1999. He worked there for a little over 20 years before deciding to move to Texas.
In 2018, Dr. Hubler opened Lucas Family Dentistry. His previous experience practicing in a small town in Oklahoma for decades gave him an incalculable amount of real-world experience. Due to the location, there was limited access to dental specialists. Because of this, he had to learn to do many procedures that most dentists would refer out, which helped many of his patients save their teeth. Over the years, he became adept at doing root canals and routine surgical extractions.
Dr. Hubler has also dedicated himself to offering dentistry that supports airway and whole-body health. Issues like sleep apnea, snoring, and sleep-disordered breathing originate in the mouth, and he’s often able to treat them using conservative and personalized techniques. This not only protects the teeth from unconscious grinding (a symptom of many sleep issues) but also promotes general wellness.
On top of his firsthand experience, Dr. Hubler is also an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, which gives him access to continuing education and the latest advancements in his field.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Hubler met his wife, Cindy, when they were both in college at Brigham Young University. They were married in Salt Lake City, then moved to Oklahoma for Dr Hubler to attend dental school. They went on to have five children, three daughters and two sons, who have given them five wonderful grandchildren so far.
When he isn’t spending time with loved ones, Dr. Hubler is active in his church and likes to ride motorcycles. He has a couple of tour-style motorcycles and likes to take trips with Cindy, having ridden as far as a round-trip to Colorado. Mostly, they go on short rides to nearby communities for dinner to support family-owned restaurants.
